Early mornings at the Wildlife Refuge carry a special stillness, especially when the frost settles across the landscape. As I entered the refuge that morning, I noticed a Doe moving quietly through the cold crisp air. I stopped my car as quickly as I could and grabbed my camera. I immediately began filming and taking photos. I Doe remained calm - until two ducks suddenly lifted from the marsh…directly in front of the her! The Doe reacted instantly...stopping in her tracks. Moments like this remind me that wildlife is always alert, even in the quietest hours of the day.
